Our new edition of folding stools features a model once produced by Fábrica Metalúrgica ICA in Aeeiro, Northern Portugal. We sometimes saw them with anglers by the river Tagus or vendors on the market who must have used them every day for years and years. We eventually tracked down some old stock in a warehouse. Their flimsy nylon seats didn’t really do them justice, so we replaced them by hand-sewn vegetable tanned leather with a grip hole.
